SUMMARY
As a Product Evangelist for OpenClass - an innovative, completely free, cloud-based solution that stimulates social learning and the exchange of content, coursework, and ideas - you have the opportunity to drive Pearson’s efforts to engage with our most important stakeholders: our end-users. The Product Evangelist serves as the primary conduit of information between our multiple end-user groups and the Product organization behind the most innovative product in online learning. The successful candidate will be recognized as an expert in the Social Learning and Learning Management space and considered the “go-to” person with respect to ensuring that the very best ideas from our broad groups of users are used to help forge the future of OpenClass.
The Product Evangelist is closely aligned with the Product Management group and end-user communities throughout all stages of the product life cycle (idea, definition, development, release, and post-release activities). The successful candidate will be adept at multi-tasking and thriving in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. This person should be skilled at building rapport and trust with team members and be equally adept in the roles of team leader, strategist, presenter and facilitator.

Responsibilities

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
•Serves as primary OpenClass Product Team point of contact to critically important Education Partner and User Community stakeholder groups
•Serves as primary conduit between these end-user groups, focused on gathering, synthesizing and prioritizing their feedback
•Responsible for helping Product Managers interpret end-user feedback in order to successfully evolve it into tangible software product requirements
•Responsible for gathering feedback through stakeholder interviews and in-person collaboration, surveys, design sessions, and more
•Gathers, understands and reports on Industry trends to internal and end-user stakeholders
•Serves as Community Manager, overseeing and serving as the primary “voice” of OpenClass Knowledge Base, User Forums, Twitter handles, others social networking properties, iOS and Android Marketplaces, onsite Partner meetings, and more
•Provides guidance and leadership on Community Management Best practices, including Community Advocacy, Brand Ambassadorship, Online Communication Strategy, and training of internal resources
•Ability to write insightful and instructional articles, product release summaries, best practices guides, and other written/visual content as appropriate
•Understanding of PR, marketing, social media, technical product evangelism and experience in building conversations and driving messages with developer and user communities
•Maintains close relationships with all internal stakeholders, including Client Services, New Business Development, Quality Assurance, Account Management, Help Desk, Course Development, User Experience Design, and Instructional Design in order to communicate upcoming releases, as well as gather feedback on customer and prospect needs

Qualifications

MANAGERIAL RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDES PEOPLE, PROCESS OR FUNCTIONS.
This position will have shared responsibility for the vision, scope, and market deployment of new or existing product lines. Background in agency experience is highly desired.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
Bachelor’s degree required – preferably in Business Administration or related field with a minimum of three (3) years of business analysis / product management experience in a high tech environment. Preferably, this candidate will also have experience in high-tech Product Management, especially in an Agile environment.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
•Customer service focused with excellent communication skills (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills
•Ability to participate effectively and build consensus on a cross-functional team
•Ability to effectively manage multiple projects at once
•Ability to understand and document business processes and requirements
•Demonstrated knowledge of Agile software development methodology
•Understanding of eLearning platforms is highly desired
•Ability to work independently
•Ability to communicate business needs and ideas to technical team members, such as developers and Quality Assurance engineers, throughout the project life cycle
•Excellent organizational and time management skills
•Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
•Ability to make timely and sound decisions
•Ability to work efficiently in a fast paced environment
•Must have a technology background
