The SIOP Educational Consultant focuses on accelerating instructional improvement by using the Sheltered Instruction Observation Protocol to initiate district decisions. Consulting with district personnel and school faculty, the Educational Consultant will present the SIOP Model (research and methodology) with engaging and interactive activities to meet identified participant needs using research-based leadership and instructional strategies.
The SIOP Educational Consultant is the onsite representative of the School Achievement Services helping to initiate lasting change in districts and schools by delivering the SIOP Model professional development. The SIOP Service Consultant provides individual along with group support for district personnel and school faculty as they incorporate effective strategies into classroom practice.
SCOPE AND IMPACT OF JOB
- Professional Development Delivery: ability to provide multiple methods of delivery; strong adult coaching; strong presentation skills
- Awareness of Pearson’s service methodology
- Consulting Skills: effective customer service, strong facilitation skills, ability to leverage company resources, overall business professionalism
- SIOP Protocol Data Analysis, Planning, and Review: ability to analyze school and district protocol data and identify areas of need, plan a comprehensive approach to deliver services to meet needs, ability to facilitate a progress monitoring system to review data, planning, and progress
- nstructional Quality: strong knowledge of best practices in teaching; ability to model best practices and coach teachers; strong content knowledge related to assigned contracts
- Up-selling existing contracts, maintaining current customers
Responsibilities

Qualifications
Related work experience:
- Extensive Background with the SIOP Model
- At least five years teaching experience
- Effective teacher and coach of other adults
- Experience with creating, organizing, and delivering multiple forms of professional development for adults
- Knowledgeable about current and longstanding content research (language arts, math, science, etc.) and also national, state, and local ELL policies and issues
- Excellent presentation skills
- Fluent with MS Office 2000 or later version (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Internet Explorer)
Formal education or equivalent:
- Master’s Degree in the field of Education

- Diagnosing school-level needs and prescribing needed services to meet those needs
- Confident, thorough, responsible, dependable, efficient, adaptability, flexibility and works well under pressure
