The Scoring Director/Chief Reader trains educators to holistically evaluate written, spoken, and/or videotaped responses to a variety of teacher certification examinations. Responsibilities of this position include preparing materials that exemplify state-specific standards, orienting scorers through an established calibration process, managing scoring sessions, and, if qualified, serving as a content expert in a teaching content area. Responsibilities

The Content Developer is responsible for managing the item-development process of large test-development projects. The Content Developer conducts meetings with subject matter experts to write and review examination items, assemble examinations using proprietary software, and ensure that test schedules are developed and maintained. The Content Developer is also responsible for managing project-specific item databases to ensure the accuracy of items and the export of test forms.

SCOPE AND IMPACT OF JOB

Working closely with Supervisor, Content Development, the Content Developer maintains significant contact with and has responsibility for company and/or client-owned content. The Content Developer ensures that there are no errors in item content or documentation, which would have a significant financial impact on the business.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

25% Manage company and/or client-owned content within proprietary item banking software

20% Train subject matter experts to write test items that meet accepted standards; facilitate item-development meetings

20% Review and refine items to make the format consistent with accepted psychometric principles and specified styles

20% Direct committees of SMEs in reviewing and refining items to maximize content validity, correct content deficiencies, and select final item set

5% Direct committees of SMEs in selecting items for final test forms

10% Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Required Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required
- 1-2 years experience as a test developer, or other related academic, or work experience required
- Intermediate Microsoft Word and Excel skills required
- Ability to travel domestically up to 15%
