The production editors consult with the editor, design coordinator/video producer to assign a team for each project, contract freelance production coordinators as needed, develop project schedule, contract freelance compositors to electronically produce the book, oversee layout, production, and deadlines, check corrections during layout, prepare book files, eBooks and derivatives, communicate technical output information to the vendor, approve book proofs, QA eBooks and other derivatives and make any necessary corrections.
